On October 2^nd 2016, just as he was heading home after one of our matches, Ray Rusch was killed in a car accident at the intersection of Old Davenport Road and Highway 151.

Ray was 74 years old.

Ray was instrumental in our shooting sports at the local Dubuque Izaak Walton League Chapter.  He was a friend to many and a mentor to more.  His attitude and personality was a guiding hand in many of our shooters.  We never thought he would go out this way and many of us are still getting over his loss, 6 months later.  He was a founder of the pistol sports at our Chapter and was a leader we looked up to.
